Module 2: Digital Financial Strategy

Capital Acquisition: From Startup to IPO

Growth Strategy Friday
Workshop #7

In the growth process of all organizations, capital is always essential.

Even though we are having very good sales, that is; we require more capital to grow more, to cover more, to develop more, more, more.

There are many mechanisms available; you can request bank loans, raise capital, issue shares, or even sell declining business units. This week, I was inspired by how companies with relevant value propositions that address key needs can emerge and become unicorns that go public in record time, as is the case with CLARA, which achieved this in 2 years. Clara, the fintech company, is a platform for managing payments and corporate cards in LATAM, founded with the goal of simplifying and optimizing financial processes for businesses. It even integrates with ERPs and other financial information systems in real time.

In the context of this week’s events, where Amazon surpasses $2 trillion in market value thanks to the use of AI, and Nvidia achieves record chip sales in China, demonstrating that China will be the world’s largest market in the coming years, surpassing the United States, the questions for this week are:

  1. What type of technology should we invest in when presenting our strategy to shareholders and stakeholders?
  2. Which markets should be prioritized?
  3. How will this capital be allocated?
  4. Is our growth strategy so well-founded that investors are actively seeking us out?

We will conclude Module 2 on Financial Strategy next Friday. We will delve deeper into how to evaluate the financial health of a firm and plan for future financial performance.

You are invited to “Growth Strategy Fridays,” which are online workshops lasting 2 hours each week from 8:00 to 10:00 Chicago/CDMX time.

This program addresses corporate growth strategy topics by reviewing methodologies and case studies of the most iconic brands in the world. Each module features an executive from one of these brands, with whom I have had the opportunity to collaborate. You can directly ask them questions and network with them.
